Silky had a bit of a problem before, he was drooling and stuffs...but it just made his chin a bit wet all the time. Today my mum and my brother took him to the vet (I am not at home :( I'm at uni and silky is at home) because Silky had been eating badly for quite a while. The vet said to see the problem she'd have to put him under general anaesthetic, but if she did so itd risk him dying because he is severely underweight. So, my mum and brother had to handfeed him and he was put on antibiotics. But...apparantly he was in severe pain, so...he just got put down. Or, is in the process of being put down now. I dno. I am far away from him, I haven't seen him for ages, I miss him and I am crying. :(. I know that he is just a pet...and...that I am old...and a guy...and I shouldn't cry about this...but I will really miss him and it really hurts >_<;;.

R.I.P. Silky...

aww, poor Silky! :cry: how old was he? no need to feel embarassed- you have every right to be sad and cry when loved ones pass away. I think its just as sad to lose animals as family and friends. I was most distraught when i lost the first dwarf hamster i ever bought, she never had a boyfriend or babies so it mustve been sad. I hope Silky had a good life.

yeah silky was like a lil rabbit he let me hold him and he wouldn't run away...he has always felt most secure with me. i am sad that i am not there for him when he needs me :(. thank you for the support rosa~ i think he's around 4.

aaaaawwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!! *cries* You are not alone my friend! You can cry all you want! Silky loves you lots so it ok! *pats on head* It'll be all right now.

AWW poor silky...I remember when my hamster had a stroke and was dying, we didn't take her to the vets because it was going to cost about £45 which is stupid, and the hamster only cost £5 herself...I was holding her and i put her water bottle by her mouth and she was licking it, but I squeezed the bottle...I think I drowned her...she always bit me when I hel her anyway...but POOR SILKY

mm...i wouldve happily paid £45 to save silky even though he was free~ you can't put a cost on a life >_<;;...

aww...I wanted to save her but its a bit expensive to save an old hamster thats going to die soon...I think it was old age
