"Matthew,
Unfortunately the regulations state that you cannot progress to year 2, and there are no grounds for being allowed to repeat the entire year. The decision of examinations committee was that you will be an external repeat for CHEM1006, which essentially means that you will not be enrolled as a student and effectively take a gap year and take the examination again in June 2010. You are allowed 3 attempts in all, so this would be the last chance unless there are any special considerations of note. Passing CHEM1006 would mean that you could then enter year 2. I’m sorry that this isn’t what you want to hear."

I'm currently applying to another university for an education degree, and if I don't get into that then I'm also applying for a teaching assistant job.
